Plant Operations Supervisor

About the role

Sandfire MATSA is seeking a Plant Operations Supervisor to lead the day‑to‑day running of its mineral processing plant in Almonaster la Real, Huelva. The role bridges production, maintenance, safety and contractor management across multiple shifts, ensuring that output targets are met safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate plant activities across five rotating shifts.
• Lead daily operational meetings and produce regular reports.
• Communicate the monthly production plan to all stakeholders.
• Plan and oversee maintenance activities and scheduled shutdowns.
• Monitor raw‑material availability and adjust operations accordingly.
• Manage external contractors, ensuring service quality and compliance.
• Maintain safety systems, conduct risk assessments and enforce controls.
• Control consumables, monitor operational costs and drive cost‑saving initiatives.
• Liaise with mine and maintenance teams to align production and upkeep.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemical, Mining, Industrial Engineering or Chemistry.
• 2–3 years of supervisory experience in an industrial plant environment.
• Solid understanding of mineral processing operations.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles (preferred).
• Proven ability to manage contractors and control costs.
