Platform Lead - Commercetools

About the role

Nestlé Nespresso is looking for a Platform Lead specialized in Commercetools to join its Digital and Tech team in Esplugues de Llobregat, Barcelona. As the subject matter expert for Commercetools, a core platform supporting direct-to-customer business across 40 markets, you will guide platform evolution, reliability, security, compliance and adoption, working with technology, architecture, product, engineering and business teams. The position is permanent and hybrid, with fluent business English required.

Key responsibilities

• Own the strategic direction of the Commercetools platform and act as the main point of contact with the vendor, influencing roadmap conversations and assessing new capabilities.
• Drive platform health, reliability, security and compliance, partnering with architecture, engineering and operations teams to keep the platform scalable and resilient.
• Accelerate adoption by strengthening documentation, training, best practices and developer experience.
• Hold regular alignment sessions with Commercetools to follow new releases and roadmap items, and identify opportunities to influence the roadmap.
• Ensure solutions such as Merchant Centre, Frontend Studio and Connectors have robust upgrade and compliance plans.
• Monitor platform health with reliability engineering teams and drive adoption of new capabilities across product and engineering teams.
• Share knowledge through documentation, training and best practices, and act as the go-to expert for Commercetools across the organization.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in digital commerce, eCommerce technology or platform leadership roles.
• Demonstrated hands-on or platform leadership experience with Commercetools.
• Proven experience leading a digital commerce platform and engaging with technical, product and business stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of reliability, scalability, security and compliance principles.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, and fluent business English.

Bonus points

• Experience with MACH, composable commerce or other headless commerce platforms.
• Able to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong experience with agile delivery models.
• Experience in global environments and virtual teams.
