Privacy Legal Advisor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced privacy professional to join HP’s Trust and Privacy Organization in Barcelona. The role combines privacy counsel and advisory duties, providing risk‑based legal guidance to business units and global functions on data protection matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide privacy legal advice on a wide range of data protection topics.
• Draft, review and negotiate privacy‑related contractual provisions, including DPA and data‑sharing agreements.
• Maintain and update HP’s standard privacy contract templates in line with applicable laws.
• Support privacy risk assessments, PIA/DPIA processes and document defensible privacy positions.
• Assist in personal data breach assessments and advise on notification obligations.
• Guide business units on data subject requests and complex sensitive cases.
• Contribute to regulatory, audit and compliance activities requiring privacy expertise.
• Help improve HP’s privacy governance, documentation and processes.

Required profile

• Four‑year law degree or equivalent qualification.
• 7‑10 years of experience in privacy and data protection, preferably in a law firm, in‑house legal department or regulatory body.
• Proven experience reviewing and negotiating commercial and data‑protection agreements.
• Ability to translate complex privacy requirements into practical business guidance.
