Product Operation Support Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Product Operation Support Engineer to lead customer investigations on product failures, primarily for Schneider Electric’s distribution automation range. Based in Sevilla (with a possible UK option), you will work within the Europe POST team to analyse hardware and firmware issues and drive corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate field failures of distribution automation products (T300, T500, Saitel) and protection relays using the 8D problem‑solving methodology.
• Produce Technical Expertise Assessment (TEX) reports in 8D format and present root‑cause findings to global hardware design, L3 support and quality teams.
• Collaborate with repair plants (Riga, Bangalore) and expert centres (UK, China) to support production and repair activities.
• Perform board‑level diagnostics, component‑level failure analysis and support implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Address component obsolescence by identifying alternatives, developing test plans and validating suitability.
• Assist R&D with hardware design issues identified during verification, validation and EMC testing of new and existing designs.
• Continuously build expertise on Schneider Electric’s distribution automation product portfolio.

Required profile

• Strong passion for customer experience and technical problem solving.
• Ability to work in cross‑functional squads and communicate findings clearly.
• Experience analysing hardware and firmware failures in an industrial setting.
• Willingness to travel to plants and expert centres as needed.
