Project Implementation and Coordination Support Consultant

About the role

Under the guidance of the Local2030 Coalition Secretariat Team Lead, the consultant will support the implementation of the “Enhancing the role of municipalities to accelerate SDG Localization” project. The role focuses on coordinating activities, delivering outputs on time, and strengthening engagement with coalition stakeholders and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure effective implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities in line with objectives, workplans, timelines, and donor requirements.
• Strengthen the availability and dissemination of knowledge and policy products that support municipalities and local stakeholders in advancing SDG Localization.
• Facilitate meaningful engagement of local and regional actors through consultations, dialogues, learning activities, and knowledge‑exchange processes.
• Support documentation, communication, and visibility of project results, lessons learned, and good practices.
• Coordinate among Coalition stakeholders, UN entities, donors, and strategic partners to maximize impact of interventions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in project coordination and implementation within international development or UN contexts.
• Familiarity with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and municipal/local governance.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and partners across sectors.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Willingness to work onsite in Bilbao or relocate.
