Purchasing Technician

About the role

We are looking for a Purchasing Technician to join SMILEAT, a company dedicated to organic baby food. You will ensure a steady supply of raw materials, packaging and finished products, supporting our mission to deliver high‑quality, sustainable meals to families.

Key responsibilities

• Manage purchases of raw materials, finished goods and auxiliary items such as packaging, labels and wrapping.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to guarantee quality, availability and on‑time delivery.
• Monitor inventory levels, calculate safety stock, optimise minimum order quantities and manage lead times.
• Coordinate with Production, Sales and Logistics to align purchasing with actual demand.
• Oversee expiry‑date management and product rotation (FIFO), especially for organic baby food.
• Resolve supplier issues promptly and identify opportunities to improve purchasing and inventory processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a purchasing role, preferably in the food industry.
• Proficiency in English (B2 level or higher) for communication with international suppliers.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel
• ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, Delsys or similar)
