Quality & Configuration Management Engineer

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Quality & Configuration Management Engineer to join its Quality & Product Assurance team in Getafe, Madrid. You will act as the primary liaison between internal departments, civil/military authorities and customers, ensuring product conformity and regulatory compliance throughout the aircraft life‑cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main focal point for quality, safeguarding conformity and managing customer feedback.
• Maintain relationships with civil and military authorities, ensuring approvals (DOA, POA, MOA) and issuing flight permits.
• Support change control and configuration baseline evolution, handling product breakdown structure changes.
• Track product delivery and lifecycle data (as‑built vs design approved) through assembly, testing, delivery and maintenance.
• Define and monitor KPIs, analyse non‑conformances (NCRs), perform root‑cause analysis and implement preventive actions.
• Develop and maintain quality methods and instructions within the QMS, driving process efficiency.

Required profile

• Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in Quality Assurance, QMS or Configuration Management in aerospace or defence.
• Proactive mindset with strong cross‑functional communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Advanced English; Spanish is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of aeronautical organisational approvals (DOA, POA, MOA).
• Expertise in Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Root Cause Analysis and NCR management.
• Configuration Control processes.
• Familiarity with aviation authorities (EASA, PERAM) and flight‑permit procedures.
