Quality & Food Safety Senior Manager

About the role

Fyffes is seeking a senior leader to drive quality and food safety across its global fresh‑produce supply chain. You will ensure that all sourced fruit meets internal standards, customer expectations and regulatory requirements, acting as the pivotal link between growers, packhouses, operations and commercial teams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement a comprehensive quality and food safety strategy for all sourcing regions and partners.
• Oversee the end‑to‑end quality framework, including HACCP systems, product specifications and SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with certifications such as GlobalG.A.P., GRASP, BRC, IFS, Organic, Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance.
• Conduct audits, farm visits and monitor corrective actions for growers, packhouses and service providers.
• Lead quality control teams, inspection protocols and data reporting across origin and destination points.
• Own claims, rejections and complaint investigations, applying root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Manage crisis response activities, including holds, withdrawals, recalls, mock recalls, traceability and laboratory testing programmes.
• Recruit, motivate and develop the professional quality team.

Required profile

• Degree in Food Science, Agriculture or a related discipline.
• 7‑10+ years of experience in quality and food safety within fresh produce.
• Proven track record managing global supply chains, supplier audits and continuous improvement.
• Experience handling incidents, claims, complaints and recall situations.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
