Regulatory Affairs Manager

About the role

VERBUND, Austria's leading energy company, is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Manager to ensure compliance of its renewable generation, storage and infrastructure projects in Spain. The role involves monitoring policy developments, advising senior management on regulatory risk, and representing the company in key decision‑making forums.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret national, regional and local laws, regulations, market rules and policy instruments affecting renewable energy and related infrastructure.
• Lead the internal regulatory team, communicating updates and their implications to management and relevant departments.
• Maintain continuous dialogue with headquarters on regulatory changes in Spain and the company’s position during public consultations.
• Manage relationships with regulators, market operators and industry associations; represent VERBUND in consultations, hearings and rule‑making processes.
• Participate actively in public consultation periods, advocating the company’s interests.
• Contribute to association working groups and lead advocacy efforts to shape renewable energy policy.
• Serve as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders and represent VERBUND at industry and institutional events.

Required profile

• University degree in renewable energy, electrical/industrial engineering, or law with a specialization in energy.
• 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in renewable energy business units or an energy‑focused law firm.
• Proven ability to represent corporate interests and influence outcomes in diverse environments.
• Experience coordinating interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong command of English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
