Road Freight Operations & Pricing Specialist

About the role

As a Road Freight Operations & Pricing Specialist you will coordinate and manage national and international road freight shipments across Barcelona and the EU. You will act as the primary contact for customers, carriers and internal teams, ensuring smooth execution, high service quality and compliance with legal and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee national and international road freight operations.
• Organise vehicle scheduling, driver assignments and route planning to guarantee on‑time deliveries.
• Monitor daily dispatch activities, track orders in real time and resolve any operational issues.
• Maintain continuous communication with customers, drivers, subcontractors and logistics partners.
• Serve as the main point of contact for all transport‑related matters, delivering excellent customer service.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with carriers, subcontractors and external service providers.
• Ensure compliance with legal, safety and internal regulations, including driving/rest time and load‑securing standards.
• Prepare, review and maintain transport documentation, operational records and performance reports.
• Support administrative tasks such as rate management and subcontractor coordination.
• Analyse operational performance and identify opportunities for cost‑efficiency and process optimisation.

Required profile

• Vocational training in freight forwarding, logistics, transportation management or a related field.
• Previous experience in dispatching, preferably in international long‑distance transportation.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities with a customer‑oriented mindset.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and make quick, well‑founded decisions.
• Excellent English; additional languages are a plus.
• High sense of responsibility, reliability and a structured, analytical work style.
• Solution‑oriented, proactive and strong problem‑solving skills.
• Team player with assertiveness and flexibility.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Transport Management Systems (TMS).
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
