Senior Accountant

About the role

Codeway, a bootstrapped Barcelona-based company building consumer AI apps, is looking for a Senior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting across its multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction group. Reporting to the Head of Accounting, the role is hands-on, covering accurate financial records, intercompany transactions and statutory compliance, with exposure to international accounting, transfer pricing and group reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records across group entities and process journal entries, accruals and prepayments
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, reconciliations and follow-up
• Perform bank reconciliations across entities and currencies, and support month-end and year-end close
• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and assist with periodic tax filings
• Support transfer pricing documentation and the annual audit schedules
• Help select and implement the group ERP, including data migration and testing
• Contribute to finance policies, internal controls and ad-hoc financial analysis

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in general ledger accounting
• Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory
• Strong understanding of Spanish GAAP/IFRS, financial statements and internal controls

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• Experience with a major ERP system is highly preferred
