Senior Architectural Designer – Second-in-Command

About the role

Blue Pearl is seeking an experienced Senior Architectural Designer to act as the right‑hand to the Lead Designer on one of Ibiza’s most ambitious residential developments. This full‑time, on‑site position requires the candidate to be based on the island or willing to relocate before starting.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Lead Designer as second‑in‑command, stepping in when required and representing the design team internally and externally.
• Mentor and coordinate a multidisciplinary design team covering architecture, interiors, and technical disciplines.
• Develop and maintain the project’s BIM environment, ensuring model integrity, version control and clash‑free coordination.
• Produce and review design documentation across all RIBA/Spanish project stages – concept, planning, technical and construction.
• Coordinate with external consultants (structural, MEP, landscape, lighting) to align deliverables with project standards.
• Track design timelines, deliverables and quality, flagging risks early to the Lead Designer.
• Apply AI‑driven tools to accelerate concept generation, visualisation, documentation and review workflows.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders, investors and regulatory authorities in English and Spanish.
• Ensure compliance with Spanish and EU building regulations, CTE and local Ibiza/Balearic planning requirements.
• Guard Blue Pearl’s visual identity by reviewing social media, presentations and other external touchpoints.

Required profile

• Proven creativity combined with strong leadership, organisational and presentation abilities.
• Confident, organised professional comfortable acting as the Lead Designer’s trusted point of contact.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Ibiza and collaborate closely with development, construction and commercial teams.
• Fluent in English and capable of presenting in Spanish.
• Commitment to upholding Blue Pearl’s brand standards across all communications.

Required skills

• BIM (Building Information Modeling) – model integrity, version control and clash detection.
• AI‑driven design tools for concept generation and visualisation.
• Knowledge of RIBA project stage documentation and Spanish project stages.
• Understanding of Spanish and EU building regulations (CTE) and local Ibiza planning requirements.
• Coordination of multidisciplinary consultants (structural, MEP, landscape, lighting).
