Senior Auditor

About the role

Under the guidance of the Global Internal Audit Manager or Lead Senior, the Senior Auditor leads and supervises fieldwork for Global Internal Audit projects. The role involves conducting audits, providing advisory services, assessing risks, and coaching audit staff while upholding professional ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform audit procedures, including issue identification, criteria development, evidence analysis and documentation of processes.
• Review work papers and conduct quality checks on staff auditors’ work.
• Conduct interviews, review documents, develop and administer surveys, compose summary memos and prepare working papers.
• Identify, develop and document audit issues and recommendations using independent judgment.
• Participate in opening and closing audit meetings.
• Monitor and regularly report audit activity status to the Lead Senior or Manager.
• Communicate audit results through written reports and oral presentations to management.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with auditees and audit team members.
• Identify organisational risk areas and contribute to the development of the Audit Plan.
• Pursue professional development opportunities and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Represent Global Internal Audit on project teams and at management meetings.
• Provide training, coaching and guidance to Global Internal Audit auditors.
• Perform related work as assigned by the Global Internal Audit Management Team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• At least 3 years of full‑time experience in auditing or accounting, including SOX or other internal‑controls based audits.
• Additional experience in trading, engineering or related fields is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of internal auditing and accounting principles and practices.
• Ability to supervise staff and direct audit work.
• Proficiency in planning and managing audit projects under pressure and multiple deadlines.
• Negotiation and problem‑resolution capabilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
