Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a fast‑growing team building the backend of a leading Customer Experience Intelligence platform used by global brands. You will design, scale and operate distributed services and APIs that power high‑throughput analytics and integrate advanced AI capabilities such as large language models.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for a high‑throughput analytics platform.
• Architect and evolve distributed systems with a focus on reliability, performance and maintainability.
• Own the full lifecycle of backend initiatives, from technical design to production support.
• Integrate AI components (LLMs, agentic frameworks) into core services and product features.
• Implement robust observability practices, including logging, tracing, monitoring and incident response.
• Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders to define requirements and shape architecture.
• Contribute to engineering excellence through code reviews and design discussions.
• Work with cloud environments such as GCP or AWS to deliver production‑grade systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior Backend Engineer in high‑ownership, product‑driven teams.
• Strong architectural and system‑design skills with a deep understanding of distributed systems.
• Hands‑on experience delivering complex backend features in fast‑paced environments.
• Ability to work independently and take end‑to‑end ownership of services.

Required skills

• Python, Go or Ruby programming languages.
• Design of RESTful APIs and event‑driven architectures.
• Database performance optimisation, indexing and query tuning on large datasets.
• Cloud platforms: Google Cloud Platform (preferred) or Amazon Web Services.
• Observability tools and practices: monitoring, logging, tracing, incident management.
• Experience with large language models, prompt engineering or agentic AI frameworks (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic).
• Familiarity with analytical databases such as BigQuery or ClickHouse.
