Senior Consultant – Market & Counterparty Risk / Murex Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to lead Market and Counterparty Risk initiatives and drive Murex implementation projects for financial institutions. The role blends functional expertise, risk methodology, and technology integration across Front Office, Risk, and Treasury environments.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and enhance Murex Front Office and Risk modules.
• Gather and analyse functional requirements together with business and technology teams.
• Design and optimise end‑to‑end processes for pre‑trade pricing, trade booking, post‑trade activities, portfolio management and risk reporting.
• Support projects covering Market Risk, Counterparty Risk, valuation methodologies, Initial Margin and XVA processes, and regulatory transformation programmes.
• Conduct functional testing, coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and assist with change‑management activities.
• Prepare documentation, training materials and provide ongoing support to business users.
• Act as a bridge between multidisciplinary business and technology stakeholders.

Required profile

• 3–4 years of experience in consulting or banking focused on financial risk management.
• Hands‑on experience with Murex implementation, support or transformation projects.
• Strong knowledge of Market Risk, Counterparty Risk, valuation frameworks, XVA and Initial Margin methodologies.
• Familiarity with risk metrics such as VaR, Expected Shortfall, stress‑testing and regulatory standards (e.g., SA‑CCR).
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline; postgraduate studies or certifications (FRM, CFA) are a plus.

Required skills

• Murex Front Office and Risk modules (including MRB, MLC or equivalent).
• Python programming (highly desirable).
• Agile project methodologies.
• JIRA or similar agile tooling.
