Senior Data Engineer – Digital Hub

About the role

Join Volkswagen Group Services' Digital Hub in Spain as a Senior Data Engineer. You will work in a start‑up‑like environment, building robust data pipelines and models that support the automotive business while collaborating with cross‑functional Agile teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform and load data into NoSQL databases.
• Define and evolve transformation logic to ensure data quality, consistency and schema alignment across heterogeneous sources.
• Create and maintain document‑oriented data models and visualizations for architectural alignment.
• Implement validation, monitoring and alerting to guarantee data integrity and early failure detection.
• Establish data‑governance practices, including anonymisation of production data and generation of synthetic test data.
• Write clean, well‑tested, maintainable code and review peers’ contributions.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into data solutions and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience designing and operating large‑scale data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data quality, governance and security requirements.
