Senior Electrical System Integration Leader - Wind

About the role

The Senior Electrical System Integration Leader is a key person for successful, high-quality new product execution. The role carries technical accountability and cross-functional leadership for the electrical system of multiple wind turbine platforms, leading product development projects from business requirement definition and technical trade-offs through prototype installation to serial production. The team covers the overall electrical system of wind turbine products and its components such as generators, transformers, power conductors, cable harnesses, converters, switchgear and control cabinets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the component and system design lifecycle of the sub-system, with full ownership of design, development, testing and certification
• Drive should-cost assessments and support cost optimization with suppliers to meet component cost targets
• Communicate design details and technical recommendations to senior leadership and incorporate lessons learned into design
• Prioritize and delegate work to a global team of design engineers and subcontractors, managing daily operations, priorities, schedules and resource allocation
• Work with customers, fleet support teams and systems engineering on fleet issues and improvements
• Review critical drawings, schematics and technical specifications for accuracy before release, and review design review documents before CTH evaluation
• Support quality, on-time delivery, design cost, DFMEA, performance, availability, weight and other business-defined targets
• Work with mechanics, systems, product line and sourcing to ensure cross-segment development, and interface with test labs to drive validation strategy
• Provide technical guidance to CTH and PBM owners on design practices, standards, new methods and tools

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong technology and/or product management experience in low-voltage and/or power-path component design or a similar position
• Fluent English, spoken and written
• Desired: wind industry expertise, experience in system validation, test bench testing and field measurements, knowledge of standards and design codes, and electrical component design calculations, specifications and schematics
