Senior ERP Systems Engineer - ERP FinOps and License Manager

About the role

Roche is looking for a Senior ERP Systems Engineer (ERP FinOps and License Manager) to lead the strategic financial governance, cost optimization and license, credit and subscription utilization for its global ERP and SAP environments. The role bridges IT, Finance and Procurement to keep the company compliant with vendor licensing rules while eliminating overspending, cloud waste and token consumption leakages. It sits within the RDT ERP Systems Management area, which oversees the stability, security, compliance and lifecycle of global templates such as SAP S/4HANA Digital Core.

Key responsibilities

• SAP license management and compliance: govern the software asset lifecycle, analyze user entitlements by role and platform transactions, and assign the most cost-effective license types (e.g. Full Use Equivalents in RISE)
• AI token and consumption governance: set up tracking for SAP AI Units, define usage guardrails, map spend to pilots and use cases, and enforce hard quotas in the BTP Cockpit
• Audit readiness and true-ups: reconcile entitlements with real-time consumption data and run periodic measurement huddles to prepare for vendor audits
• Cloud FinOps: oversee cloud TCO, multi-million software budgets and rolling forecasts, and monitor spending trends such as data storage and SaaS consumption
• Software asset management tooling: assess needs and coordinate the use of the corporate SAM toolbox
• Cost allocation, showback and chargeback: implement and present internal chargeback models for ERP cloud, application and consumption footprints
• Vendor negotiations: give procurement data-backed models to negotiate terms, manage true-ups and avoid over-licensing
• Drive medium to large-scale asset and subscription optimization initiatives and share FinOps, licensing, cloud and AI metering expertise internally

Required profile

• Experience defining tasks, monitoring and following up within the organization
• Proven track record managing enterprise software contracts, platform cost tracking, credit pools or license true-ups in complex environments such as SAP landscapes
• Experience in global knowledge-sharing events, tech universities or Centers of Excellence
• Strong communication, negotiation and leadership skills

• SAP licensing and entitlement architecture, including S/4HANA RISE metrics, FUE, Digital Access, BTP consumption credits and SAP AI Units
• Cloud FinOps, metered consumption engines, SAM tooling and cost telemetry
• Designing dashboards and visualizations to replace manual compliance workflows
