Senior Institutional Sales

About the role

Senior Institutional Sales will lead the commercial effort for Santander Asset Management in Spain, focusing on institutional clients such as pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds and endowments. Based in Madrid, the role combines direct selling with collaboration across Santander CIB and CCB channels to achieve short‑term financial targets and long‑term growth.

Key responsibilities

• Drive high‑value sales growth across the institutional client segment in Spain.
• Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with major institutional investors.
• Co‑create and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed commercial targets.
• Identify market opportunities and trends to position the firm’s product offerings.
• Collaborate with product, investment and banking teams to align resources with sales plans.
• Work closely with Santander’s private banking and corporate banking channels to ensure coordinated delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience in institutional sales or wholesale banking within the asset management sector.
• Strong client relationship management and networking abilities.
• Deep understanding of the competitive landscape and financial products for institutional investors.
• Results‑oriented mindset with a track record of meeting commercial targets.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple internal stakeholders.
