Senior Internal Auditor – Logistics & Transportation

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Internal Auditor to join a global business operating in logistics, transportation and infrastructure. The role will be based in Barcelona or Madrid and involves close collaboration with senior stakeholders to assess risks and drive improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute internal audits from planning through reporting in line with IIA standards.
• Assess operational and financial risks and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls.
• Leverage data analytics to enhance audit testing and monitoring activities.
• Partner with business leaders to implement corrective actions and best practices.
• Monitor remediation plans and provide updates to key stakeholders.
• Support compliance, governance and ethical business standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of internal audit experience.
• Strong understanding of risk management and internal controls.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIA are preferred.
• Fluent English (C1); Spanish is advantageous.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Familiarity with COSO 2013 framework.
• Understanding of IIA standards.
• Proficiency in data analytics for audit testing.
