Senior Platform Engineer – Cloud & DevOps

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join Sanoma’s Platform Enablement Team in Madrid. In this role you will work closely with development teams to drive unified DevOps practices, standardized tooling and secure, scalable cloud solutions that boost developer productivity and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to understand needs and guide adoption of platform standards.
• Drive harmonisation of DevOps practices, tooling and workflows across engineering groups.
• Build and maintain shared platform components such as Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows and infrastructure automation.
• Support service deployment on AWS, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Helm and related cloud‑native technologies.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Develop automation scripts in Python and Bash to streamline developer workflows.
• Promote security best practices and ensure compliance with operational standards.
• Assist with operation and optimisation of Kafka and other shared services, including DataDog monitoring.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS and cloud‑native solutions.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, container orchestration and GitOps tools (ArgoCD, Helm).
• Proficiency in scripting with Python and Bash, and experience building CI/CD pipelines.
