Senior Software Engineer – Barcelona

About the role

Perk is looking for a senior software engineer to own end‑to‑end feature delivery on its travel‑and‑spend platform. You will work in a cross‑functional squad in Barcelona, shaping product direction while delivering reliable, simple systems at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of feature lifecycle from discovery, design docs, coding, deployment to impact measurement.
• Architect scalable, evolvable systems and data models, defining CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies and performance budgets.
• Lead technical quality across the team, manage technical debt, and drive observability, SLOs and incident response practices.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct design reviews and influence product roadmap through technical insight.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience delivering complex backend and frontend solutions in a SaaS environment.
• Strong ownership mindset, able to work autonomously and collaborate across squads and guilds.
• Comfort with AI‑augmented development tools and agentic coding workflows.

Required skills

• System architecture and design documentation.
• CI/CD, automated testing (unit, integration, E2E/Cypress).
• Backend expertise: API versioning, caching strategies, data migration.
• Frontend expertise: state management, performance budgeting.
• Observability and SRE practices: metrics, SLOs, incident management.
• Security hygiene: secret management, dependency risk mitigation.
• Experience with AI‑driven development tools and code review automation.
