Senior Software Engineer (.NET & Microservices)

About the Role

Join a dynamic, international development team in Málaga to shape the future of Smurfit Westrock's core internal applications. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing critical business processes including sales, billing, logistics, and shipping within a high-scale environment.

Main Missions

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) within an Agile framework.
• Design, develop, and deploy new functional modules and maintain existing high-performance systems.
• Contribute to technical decision-making processes from day one to ensure architectural excellence.
• Collaborate closely with Software Architects, Product Designers, QA, and Team Leads in a distributed team setting.
• Write clean, structured, and maintainable code while ensuring the overall quality of the codebase.

Profile Required

• Proven experience as a Software Engineer with a strong focus on backend development.
• Ability to work effectively in a distributed, international, and Agile environment.
• Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Commitment to code quality and best practices in software engineering.

Technical Skills

• Expertise in C# and .NET (minimum 5 years of professional experience).
• Strong proficiency in SQL databases and Visual Studio.
• Hands-on experience with GraphQL (ideally HotChocolate) and xUnit.
• Knowledge of message brokers, specifically RabbitMQ (preferably via MassTransit).
• Bonus: Experience with Azure Application Insights, Angular (Front-end), and AI tools like GitHub Copilot.
