Shipping Agent – Port Operations (Algeciras & Gibraltar)

About the role

Join GAC as a Shipping Agent responsible for overseeing port agency operations for vessels calling at Algeciras and Gibraltar. You will act as the primary liaison between shipowners, charterers, port authorities and local service providers, ensuring smooth vessel movements and compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate vessel arrivals, departures and cargo handling with port authorities, customs and immigration.
• Prepare and verify all documentation required for vessel operations.
• Maintain strong relationships with shipowners, charterers and local service providers.
• Ensure compliance with Spanish maritime regulations and international standards.
• Manage emergency situations and resolve operational challenges promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics or Business Administration.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in shipping agency operations.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays when required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with port community systems.
• Familiarity with shipping software platforms.
