Shopping Centre Director – South Madrid

About the role

Sonae Sierra is seeking a Shopping Centre Director to lead the overall management of its South Madrid asset. The role combines commercial, operational, technical and marketing oversight, acting as the senior on‑site representative and ensuring the centre meets financial, operational and tenant‑satisfaction targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the strategic and operational plan for the shopping centre in line with company and ownership objectives.
• Lead, coach and develop the on‑site team, including Technical Director, Marketing Coordinator, Operations Coordinator and support staff.
• Own the centre’s P&L: prepare budgets, optimise revenue, control costs and report financial performance to senior management and owners.
• Maintain strong tenant relationships, drive occupancy, ensure satisfaction and coordinate lease management with the leasing team.
• Oversee technical operations, maintenance standards and CAPEX projects together with the Technical Director.
• Drive footfall and sales through coordinated marketing strategies and visitor‑experience initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Lead ESG and sustainability actions at asset level.
• Represent the centre with local authorities, business associations, media and the community.
• Monitor market trends, adjust positioning and prepare performance reports for senior leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in shopping centre, retail asset or commercial real‑estate management.
• Proven track record of managing P&L, budgets and cost control.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to develop tenant relationships and drive occupancy.
