STAT Accountant (German Speaker) – Spain

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Statutory Accountant who is fluent in German to support our financial department across multiple European countries. The role involves handling statutory accounting tasks, participating in audits, and assisting with year‑end closings.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review all statutory accounting work within the assigned portfolio.
• Prepare monthly tasks such as flux analysis and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Analyze accounts each month to spot unusual transactions and recommend resolutions.
• Guide and mentor junior STAT accounting staff to meet client deadlines.
• Lead year‑end close activities, including US‑to‑local GAAP reconciliations and preparation of local GAAP financial statements.
• Serve as the main contact for auditors, preparing the PBC list for quarterly and year‑end audits.
• Support ad‑hoc accounting, tax, and finance projects as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
• 2‑3 years of experience in accounting.
• Fluency in English (written and verbal) and at least B2 level German.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to organise large data sets.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and travel when required.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of SAP ERP.
