Structured Notes Issuance & Platform Oversight Associate / Vice President

About the role

Santander CIB is seeking a Structured Notes Issuance & Platform Oversight Associate / Vice President to join the X-Asset Investment Solutions team in Madrid. You will help operate a global structured‑notes issuance platform, supporting daily issuance and lifecycle processes while ensuring robust documentation, regulatory compliance and controls.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end‑to‑end issuance and lifecycle management of structured notes and flow transactions across internal and external platforms such as SPIRE.
• Oversee daily issuance flow, documentation completeness, incident handling and escalation, working closely with structuring, sales, trading, legal, compliance, tax, treasury, operations and technology teams.
• Maintain governance and control frameworks, support audits, assurance reviews and regulatory reporting.
• Monitor regulatory developments and jurisdiction‑specific requirements, reviewing financial and legal documentation.
• Manage operational risks, control weaknesses and corrective actions, define KPIs and drive root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in capital markets, structured products, securities issuance or a comparable control function.
• Experience interpreting financial contracts, securities documentation or issuance programme documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering or related discipline.
• High professional proficiency in English; additional languages such as German, Italian, French or Spanish are a plus.
