Sustainability Specialist

About the role

The Sustainability Specialist will join Barceló Group’s dedicated sustainability team, supporting the development and implementation of environmental initiatives across the hotel portfolio. You will work closely with multiple departments to ensure data quality, reporting compliance, and the execution of decarbonisation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the Group’s sustainability report, including internal controls, data verification, and coordination with hotels.
• Support the rollout and monitoring of Barceló Regen sustainability standards in all properties.
• Assist in the implementation of cross‑functional projects such as decarbonisation plans, double materiality assessments, and impact initiatives.
• Identify and collaborate with NGOs, associations, and external partners to align with the Group’s sustainability strategy.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of hands‑on experience in sustainability, either within a corporate sustainability department or a consultancy.
• Advanced proficiency in English (mandatory).
• Preferably a background in the hotel or tourism sector.
• Relevant academic qualification such as a master’s degree or advanced course in sustainability.

Required skills

• Knowledge of non‑financial reporting regulations.
• Familiarity with sustainability certification standards.
