System Architect

About the role

Join the new GIS:Hub in Barcelona to shape data‑driven B2B products at the intersection of automotive expertise and digital innovation. As a System Architect you will define and steer the architecture of a cloud‑based data platform that supports AI/ML and real‑time analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Benchmark architecture proposals and align them with regulatory frameworks, standards and guidelines.
• Participate in planning, evaluating and defining high‑level system designs, exploring alternative solutions and documenting them.
• Maintain architectural artifacts such as system/component designs, solution designs and capability maps.
• Collaborate with other architects to develop, analyse and realise the data platform capability stack.
• Work with customers, stakeholders and suppliers to establish solution intent and documentation requirements.
• Enable AI/ML as a core element for future development using measurement data.
• Deliver high‑quality software within agreed time and budget constraints.

Required profile

• Academic degree in information science, software engineering, data science or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of hands‑on experience in software development and cloud‑solution architecture.
• Proven experience designing, delivering and implementing solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., Azure).
• Strong knowledge of cloud‑based solutions, data‑catalog tools and microservice architectures.
• Experience with distributed systems and event‑stream or batch processing engines (e.g., Kafka, Confluent, Databricks, CI/CD pipelines).
• Familiarity with agile and lean‑agile methods such as SAFe or LeSS.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
