Talent & Capability Design for Data & AI

About the role

Santander is building an AI‑native workforce and needs a specialist to design the talent and capability framework for its Data & AI Centre of Excellence. Based in Boadilla del Monte, you will create learning architectures, methodologies and career pathways that enable the organisation to develop and retain AI skills at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and deployment of the AI Capability Framework and AI Skills Maturity Model.
• Partner with Global Learning to co‑create and scale upskilling and reskilling programmes.
• Develop and maintain AI learning pathways, certification programmes and a comprehensive AI Skill Taxonomy linked to job architecture.
• Collaborate with Talent Management, Leadership and People Analytics teams to embed AI competencies into talent reviews, performance management and career development.
• Work with the change‑management team to drive adoption, track skill acquisition and ensure AI literacy across the function.
• Represent the AI Talent Steering Committee, aligning learning initiatives with business strategy and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in talent design, learning architecture or capability development, preferably within data, AI or technology‑focused environments.
• Strong partnership skills with learning, talent management and analytics functions.
• Ability to translate strategic AI talent objectives into practical frameworks, career paths and certification schemes.
