Tax Expert

About the role

The Tax Expert will support Bayer’s business decisions, compliance and risk management by delivering practical, high‑quality tax advice. Working in a dynamic legislative environment, the role combines technical tax knowledge with business insight to provide clear recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely, well‑founded tax advice aligned with local requirements and global standards.
• Support tax compliance processes, corporate income tax calculations and related returns.
• Interact with tax authorities, manage audits, disputes and litigation in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
• Assist M&A transactions, reorganisations and acquisitions by assessing tax impacts, risks and opportunities.
• Translate complex tax developments into actionable guidance for business teams.
• Contribute to tax policy implementation and cross‑country tax alignment within the South Europe cluster (Spain, Italy, Portugal).

Required profile

• Strong technical knowledge of corporate tax legislation and accounting rules.
• Ability to analyse complex tax matters and communicate implications clearly.
• Experience working with internal finance, global tax functions and external advisors.
• Proactive attitude with sound judgment and escalation skills for material issues.
