Tool Repair Technician – Injection Moulds

About the role

Jabil is looking for a responsible tool repair technician in Tortosa who will service, repair and get back into operation the moulds used to produce quality products. The role covers maintenance, repair, documentation and precision work on injection moulds.

Key responsibilities

• Repair mould cavities and cores worn out or damaged.
• Record changes to moulds, inserts and parts.
• Carry out periodic preventive maintenance to ensure mould reliability.
• Document interventions and keep accurate records.
• Dismantle and assemble moulds, and solve problems such as burrs, friction, ventilation and cooling.
• Clean, inspect and polish moulds carefully, especially critical surfaces.
• Read drawings and technical specifications to manufacture or repair moulds and tools.
• Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments, and operate lathes, milling machines and grinders.
• Calculate dimensions, select materials and machining methods.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in the plastic injection moulding industry.
• Experience maintaining, repairing and diagnosing moulds with integrated electrical and mechanical systems.
• Technical training (vocational cycle or industrial professional/journeyman card).
• Effective communication at all plant levels; English valued.

Required skills

• Precise interpretation of mechanical drawings and technical plans.
• Basic knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with workshop machinery and metalworking.
• TIG welding knowledge valued.
• Ability to replace delicate sensors (Kistler, proximity sensors).
• Good use of cranes in confined spaces.
• Knowledge of IMSI hot runner controllers and Manner Rack / Mold Master systems valued.
• Understanding of torque values and patterns; metric and imperial units.
