Tooling Development & Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Join Airbus Helicopters Spain as a Tooling Development & Maintenance Engineer and play a key part in the industrial transformation of our VTOL products. You will work closely with multi‑functional teams to design, acquire, and maintain jigs and tools that directly impact product quality and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Define technical specifications and acquire jigs & tools in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Integrate health & safety and ergonomic considerations into tool designs and participate in safety forums.
• Validate, monitor, and lead corrective maintenance actions to maximise asset availability.
• Act as the Airbus technical reference for external tooling suppliers during new jig & tool development.
• Contribute to innovation projects involving AI, digital manufacturing, and data analytics.

Required profile

• Degree level education with a strong background in jigs & tools or industrial maintenance.
• Proven experience in supplier management, tooling maintenance, and definition.
• Understanding of applicable CE directives and design‑to‑maintain principles.
• Effective communication in English and Spanish; additional languages a plus.
• Proactive, curious, rigorous, and a recognized team player.

• Proficient use of CATIA for tool design.
• Experience with SAP4HANA.
• Automation knowledge.
• Metrology expertise.
• Project management capabilities.
