Trade & Working Capital Transaction Banking Expert – VP

About the role

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking a Vice President to lead its Trade and Working Capital Transaction Banking activities. Based in the Madrid area, you will partner with the Global Head of Origination to shape and execute the bank’s growth strategy across Investment Banking transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Define, execute, and monitor the Trade and Working Capital origination strategy linked to M&A, Project Finance and Leveraged Finance deals.
• Identify and capture growth opportunities, managing origination projects from inception to implementation across Santander’s footprint.
• Originate and structure Trade and Working Capital solutions tailored to corporate, highly leveraged, and project‑finance clients.
• Provide advisory on optimal Working Capital structures considering client capital structure, business plans and projections.

Required profile

• Strategic mindset with the ability to spot and act on market opportunities.
• Strong project‑management capabilities to ensure successful delivery of initiatives.
• Solid commercial acumen and experience in structuring complex financing solutions.
• Background in corporate, leveraged or project finance structuring, with a focus on working‑capital products.
• Willingness to travel across Santander’s global footprint as needed.
