Workplace Engineer – Modern Workplace & Collaboration

About the role

As a Workplace Engineer/Analyst you will join SGS’s Corporate Workplace & Collaboration team, responsible for engineering, operating and continuously improving the global Modern Workplace ecosystem. You will act as the technical authority for managed devices, Intune, Windows, endpoint security and related technologies, ensuring secure, stable and efficient user experiences worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as subject‑matter expert for Intune, Windows, device management, compliance policies, update channels and endpoint technologies.
• Design and implement Modern Workplace solutions such as Autopilot, configuration profiles, compliance baselines, Windows update governance and mobile device management.
• Lead global initiatives including device standardisation, Windows 365 deployments, endpoint security roll‑outs and modernisation projects.
• Act as Tier 3 escalation point for complex endpoint incidents across Windows, iOS/Android, Intune policy conflicts, MDM enrolment and security agent deployments.
• Execute non‑standard service requests requiring deep engineering knowledge (e.g., selective policy overrides, certificate‑based integrations, advanced troubleshooting).
• Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, best‑practice guides, baseline definitions and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with Microsoft, hardware vendors and security partners to support initiatives and resolve advanced issues.
• Support M&A activities related to device migration, Intune onboarding, Windows image alignment and policy standardisation.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex endpoint issues.
• Deep knowledge of Modern Workplace technologies and best practices.
• Experience working in a global, policy‑driven IT environment.
• Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
