About the role

We are looking for a motivated 2nd Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering high‑quality culinary service at our Barceló hotel in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The role combines kitchen management, cost control and team development in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and stand in for the Head Chef, ensuring smooth operation of all kitchen processes.
• Implement the sales plan and drive department revenue through promotional actions.
• Organise and coordinate the various kitchen stations and service periods.
• Monitor and control food costs, optimizing resource utilisation.
• Lead, train and motivate kitchen staff, fostering skill development and teamwork.
• Maintain service quality, adapting to guest expectations and standards.

Required profile

• Higher Vocational Training in Kitchen Management or Hospitality, or a degree in Tourism, with HACCP certification.
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar kitchen‑leadership role.
• High level of English is desirable.
• Knowledge of office software and kitchen equipment.
• Strong sensory memory, creativity and manual dexterity.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, customer‑focused attitude and ability to solve problems quickly.
