2º Jefe/a de Cocina – Lanzarote Mar

About the role

The hotel is looking for a motivated 2nd Kitchen Chef to support the Head Chef in delivering high‑quality culinary service at the Barceló Lanzarote Mar resort. You will help drive sales, control costs and ensure a seamless kitchen operation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist and substitute the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen processes.
• Achieve departmental sales targets through promotional and dynamic actions.
• Organise and coordinate all kitchen services and stations.
• Control costs by efficiently managing resources and inventory.
• Lead, train and motivate kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and development.
• Maintain service quality, adapting to guest expectations.

Required profile

• Higher Vocational Training in Kitchen Management or Hospitality, or a degree in Tourism with HACCP training.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar kitchen leadership role.
• High level of English is desirable.
• Knowledge of office software, kitchen products, machinery and utensils.
• Strong taste and olfactory memory, creativity and manual dexterity.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, customer‑focused attitude, and ability to work in a team.
• Problem‑solving, decision‑making, analytical and meticulous work style.
• Capability to plan, organise and develop a team.

Required skills

• HACCP (food safety) certification.
• Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
