A400M Material Support Specialist

About the role

An opportunity for a Material Support Services Coordinator has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join a multidisciplinary Material Support Services Team that acts as the primary bridge between external clients, international subsidiaries and internal directorates to ensure high‑performance material availability for the A400M program.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main focal point for customers and subsidiaries regarding all Material Support Services (spares, AGEs, repairs, and ISS deliverables), guaranteeing high‑level service quality.
• Coordinate cross‑functional alignment between the Material Support organization and internal directorates such as Programs, Legal, Finance, Engineering, Procurement and MRO.
• Drive contract execution to maximise A400M fleet availability by anticipating material needs and resolving customer queries efficiently.
• Manage contract financial performance, forecast requirements, contribute to the annual operating budget and monitor expenditures to mitigate budget deviations.
• Monitor procedures, contracts and end‑to‑end supply‑chain visibility to manage and mitigate operational risks and issues.
• Ensure all contractual deliverables (spares and repairs) are provided on‑time, on‑cost and on‑quality.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in material support, customer services, program management or supply chain within the aerospace or defence industry.
• Advanced proficiency in English (C1/C2) and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Strong cross‑functional coordination, problem‑solving mindset and risk‑management abilities.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of material support operations, including spares, repairs and AGEs.
• Experience with contract management and budget tracking tools/methodologies.
