Accountant – Finance & Accounting (Hybrid, Barcelona)

About the role

The Accountant will prepare accurate financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting regulations. The role demands strong analytical abilities and a solid grasp of financial principles within a fast‑growing cybersecurity company.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.
• Execute month‑end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Manage Accounts Receivable: issue invoices and monitor collections.
• Manage Accounts Payable: process and post supplier invoices.
• Record and reconcile bank transactions and cash movements.
• Analyze financial data for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate timely accounting of tax information with the tax department.
• Monitor account balances, resolve discrepancies, and perform detailed reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing budget variance analyses.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems.
• Stay updated on relevant accounting regulations.
• Train and mentor junior accounting staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Prior experience in an accounting role with exposure to budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong analytical, technical, communication, and project‑management abilities.
• Proven capability to lead small projects, innovate, and provide peer training.
• Effective time‑management and multitasking skills to meet deadlines.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese.
• Knowledge of Brazilian accounting standards, tax regulations, and experience with Brazil’s accounting system.
