ADAS & Automated Vehicle Virtual Development Engineer

About the role

Applus+ IDIADA, a global leader in automotive engineering, is looking for an ADAS & Automated Vehicle Virtual Development Engineer to join its Electronics team in Tarragona. The engineer develops, maintains and operates virtual environments for ADAS systems, taking part in their integration, verification and validation through rigorous testing and simulation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain HIL test benches for ADAS systems
• Integrate hardware and software components to build an effective simulation environment
• Create and run test plans and procedures for ADAS components and systems
• Carry out system integration and functional tests on ADAS hardware and software
• Develop and manage test features and scenarios for HIL simulations
• Analyse test results and report on system performance
• Contribute to improving HIL testing processes and tools
• Maintain documentation for HIL test benches, procedures and results

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related field
• Proven experience in HIL testing, preferably in the automotive industry
• Experience in system integration, verification and validation
• Fluent English and Spanish; other languages are an asset

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ADAS systems and technologies
• C++, Python or MATLAB
• HIL simulation tools, preferably dSPACE and Vector
• Automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet)
• Model-based design and testing methodologies
• Version control (e.g. Git)
