AI Software Engineer (100%) - LLM & RAG Pipelines

About the role

Julius Baer is looking for an AI Software Engineer based in Madrid to own the engineering and integration layer of AI capabilities in its software delivery toolchain. The role ensures secure, scalable and maintainable delivery of AI solutions through automation and collaboration with platform teams, and works closely with AI Product Engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Own the engineering and integration layer of AI capabilities in the software delivery toolchain, ensuring secure, scalable and maintainable delivery of AI solutions.
• Collaborate with AI Product Engineers and platform teams to define and scope opportunities for AI-driven innovation.
• Prototype and validate Large Language Model (LLM)-based or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines to drive business value.
• Contribute to AI-driven automation across developer productivity platforms.
• Develop and maintain APIs, pipelines and service integrations for AI features in existing platforms such as CI/CD, observability and developer workplace tools.
• Ensure traceability, logging and compliance of integrated solutions in line with enterprise standards and security best practices.
• Promote best practices for automation, monitoring and reproducibility.

Required profile

• 2-4 years of experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong background in AI integration and automation.
• Experience integrating Machine Learning and Generative AI components into production systems, with a focus on scalability, security and maintainability.
• Security awareness and familiarity with enterprise standards for tooling, data protection and compliance.
• Comfortable working in agile, cross-functional teams with excellent communication skills.
• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or proven relevant experience; very good English.
