Aircrew Technical Publications Engineer - Combat Perimeter

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an Aircrew Technical Publications Engineer in its Combat perimeter, based in Getafe (Madrid). The role covers technical publications for pilots, including flight manuals and checklists, and involves working on international combat programs such as the Eurofighter while interacting with disciplines inside and outside Customer Services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain updated technical documentation used by combat aircraft pilots.
• Elaborate technical content, generate illustration orders, manage documentation and related services.
• Help customers use the delivered technical publications.
• Configure and manage technical data and publications, and update them as required.
• Work on customer requirements, system design, product databases and technical documentation.

Required profile

• 2 to 3 years of experience in technical publications (mandatory).
• Spanish nationality (required for Spanish Eyes Only programs).
• Advanced level of English.
• Proactive, team-oriented person able to collaborate closely with other disciplines, international communities and customers; the role is mainly technical.

Required skills

• Knowledge of support to military aircraft operations.
• Experience in customer services for military aircraft.
• Knowledge of the ASD 1000D specification.
• Knowledge of the military certification process is highly valued.
• Mandatory: mark-up languages (SGML/XML) editors and experience with technical publication tools and processes.
