Airframe Design Optimization Internship – XPLORER 2027

About the role

Join Airbus’s XPLORER 2027 program in Getafe, Spain, as a curricular practicum intern focused on airframe design optimisation and additive manufacturing. The 6‑month part‑time internship runs from February to July 2027 and includes a final‑year project (TFG) on 3‑D printing opportunities for aerospace components.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a final‑year project on additive manufacturing applications for aerospace components.
• Investigate and propose 3‑D printing solutions for structural fittings, pipe supports and maintenance platforms.
• Perform topological optimisation studies on THSA fittings, fuel piping brackets and related parts.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and a dedicated tutor to meet project timelines.

Required profile

• Enrolled in the final year of an engineering degree.
• Proficiency in English (minimum B2) and Spanish (minimum B1).
• Team‑oriented mindset with ability to meet project deadlines.
