Analyst, GCIB Corporate Coverage

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is hiring an Analyst for GCIB Corporate Coverage in Madrid. You will support the origination, structuring, execution and ongoing management of banking relationships and financing transactions with corporate clients in Spain, Portugal and Greece, working closely with Relationship Managers, senior bankers and product partners across Capital Markets, Structured Finance and Transaction Banking.

Key responsibilities

• Support senior bankers in managing corporate client relationships, including business development, marketing and pipeline management
• Contribute to client strategies, pitches, presentations and transaction materials
• Support the origination, structuring and execution of financing transactions
• Provide input on client pre-screenings and credit applications, including business rationale, facility structure and expected returns
• Assist with transaction execution, including reviewing and coordinating facility documentation
• Work with Credit, Risk, Compliance and other teams so transactions meet internal policies and regulatory requirements
• Support KYC and onboarding by coordinating legal and compliance documentation
• Monitor client facilities, covenants, outstanding conditions and application deadlines
• Analyse client income, profitability and return information and produce management reports on the GCIB Spain, Portugal and Greece portfolio
• Support MUFG's ESG and sustainable-financing objectives and connect clients with colleagues and product specialists across the international network
• Maintain accurate client information and records, identify process improvements and ensure compliance with bank policies and regulations

Required profile

• At least one year of experience in corporate banking, investment banking, transaction banking, credit, financial analysis or a similar field
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Law or a related discipline
• Interest in developing corporate client relationships
• Spanish language skills strongly preferred; additional European languages beneficial

Required skills

• Basic understanding of corporate banking products, financing structures and front-office processes
• Knowledge of credit and market risk principles and KYC/onboarding requirements
• Experience with financial information, client documentation, databases and reporting tools
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and organisational skills
• High-level IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office, database systems and AI-assisted tools
