Android Developer – In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI)

About the role

Luxoft is building a new team to develop and enhance Android Framework components for In-Vehicle Android Infotainment (IVI) systems. As an Android Developer you will work on SystemUI and Homescreen features, helping shape the next generation of vehicle infotainment experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with system engineers, product owners, designers, backend teams and QA in an end‑to‑end agile environment.
• Implement, test and refine new features for the Android Automotive application stack.
• Translate product and UI/UX requirements into robust technical solutions that fit the existing architecture.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve software defects, bugs and performance issues.
• Maintain code‑base health through regular refactoring and optimization.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering Android applications in a professional setting.
• Strong analytical skills to investigate complex system‑level and application issues.
• Ability to work effectively within a large, multi‑disciplinary team.
• Fluent communication in Spanish is a plus.

Required skills

• Kotlin and Java programming.
• Android SDK and Android Architecture Components (Lifecycle, ViewModel).
• Design patterns such as MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture and SOLID principles.
• Deep understanding of Android system aspects: process lifecycle, memory management, ActivityManagerService, app sandboxing and security fundamentals.
• Log analysis with logcat, performance profiling and debugging tools.
• Android Studio, Gradle build system and Git version control.
• Linux internals, basic shell operations, SELinux policy and embedded‑device concepts.
