AP Operations Specialist

About the role

JBT is looking for an AP Operations Specialist based in Madrid (San Fernando de Henares). The role reports to the European AP Operations supervisors and the Global Accounts Payable Operations and Master Data Manager, and supports invoice processing through AP Advantage, including entry of invoices, problem analysis and resolution. Activities must follow strong internal controls and meet the Global Service Level Agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Use the APAdvantage automation tool to drive invoice processing, approvals, efficiencies, automation and compliance
• Book invoices directly on the ERP for certain entities and review VAT codes
• Review APAdvantage correspondence and exception inbox, and process vendor invoices and credit memos
• Review and process leasing and utilities invoices, and assist in recording expenditures
• Hold weekly meetings with purchasing teams to resolve issues and improve processes
• Analyze advanced payment invoices and intercompany PO invoices, and cooperate with AP Accounting, APAdvantage owners and IT teams
• Communicate complex issues to the AP Supervisor and/or Global AP Operations Manager

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance; years of experience can replace the degree
• At least 2 years of related professional experience, including Accounts Payable and financial systems
• Experience resolving issues with internal customers and external suppliers
• High English level (B2-C1)
• Ability to work under pressure, with minimal supervision, and to travel occasionally

Required skills

• Different ERPs and SOX/SOD/internal controls proficiency
• Intermediate Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Data accuracy and attention to detail
