Assembly Engineer – Manufacturing Engineering (Extended Enterprise)

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking an Assembly Engineer to lead the industrialisation of new assemblies and sub‑assemblies at supplier sites. Based in Sevilla (Tablada), you will act as the technical bridge between Airbus internal functions and external suppliers, ensuring quality, cost and schedule targets are met.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the industrialisation of new assemblies/sub‑assemblies and modifications, ensuring compliance with quality, cost and schedule (OTOCOQ).
• Serve as the primary technical interface for supplier manufacturing topics, coordinating with Procurement, Design, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering.
• Manage configuration and technical consistency of subcontracted components.
• Assess supplier capabilities, validate processes, and evaluate capacity and robustness of manufacturing flows.
• Provide costing, workload estimations and input for tendering and make‑buy decisions.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives at suppliers to boost productivity and reduce non‑conformities.
• Coordinate Material Review Board (MRB) activities and maintain RP3 certification.
• Capture lessons learned and promote ethical, compliant supplier interactions.

Required profile

• Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience in assembly manufacturing processes and working directly with suppliers.
• Strong project leadership and cross‑functional coordination abilities.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel internationally for short stays.
