Associate Director, Data & Analytics – Delivery Region Europe

About the role

Novartis is looking for an Associate Director, Data & Analytics for its Delivery region covering Europe, based in Barcelona, Spain. The role sits at the intersection of business, analytics and technology, shaping data products that turn business strategy into data-driven decisions. It involves leading end-to-end delivery of governed data solutions from concept to adoption, working with senior stakeholders and influencing strategic priorities. Relocation support is not offered.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to turn strategic priorities into data and analytics initiatives.
• Shape and prioritise a regional data and analytics roadmap aligned with business goals.
• Lead delivery of data products from concept, development and deployment through adoption.
• Turn business requirements into product backlogs, epics and user stories.
• Drive implementation of scalable data pipelines, transformations and analytics solutions.
• Ensure data products meet quality, governance, security and compliance standards.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across business, product, engineering and governance.
• Lead stakeholder communications, business readiness and user adoption, and monitor performance and value after deployment.

Required profile

• Proven experience partnering with senior stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.
• Strong business analysis and requirements management skills in complex, cross-functional settings.
• Hands-on experience delivering scalable data pipelines, transformation workflows and analytics products.
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, lineage and data quality.
• Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Desirable: experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences or other regulated industries, and exposure to enterprise data governance platforms.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL and modern cloud-based data platforms.
• Snowflake and enterprise data orchestration technologies.
• Python for automation, scripting and testing.

• Expected annual base salary of 52,400 to 97,400 EUR in Barcelona, with a possible performance-based bonus.
