Assurance Associate

About the role

We are looking for an Assurance Associate to join our Assurance team in Port‑of‑Spine. The role involves delivering audit services for a range of clients, maintaining strong client relationships, and developing professional expertise in assurance and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Understand and promote the range of services offered by Grant Thornton ORBIT Solutions.
• Produce client deliverables on time and meet client expectations.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients and internal teams.
• Present a professional image of the firm and work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Exercise professional scepticism and diligence in audit tasks.
• Participate in risk‑assessment and planning meetings, preparing minutes and documentation.
• Prepare draft budgets and identify issues, communicating solutions promptly.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and supervision to entry‑level staff.
• Apply GT methodologies, tools, and current accounting and auditing standards.

Required profile

• Secondary education with at least five O‑levels (including English and Mathematics) or two A‑levels.
• Currently pursuing ACCA Level 3.
• 2–3 years of experience in an accounting or audit environment.
• Working knowledge of IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
• Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, ownership, and critical‑thinking abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, and ISAs.
