Automation Analyst

About the role

RBC’s Caribbean technology team is looking for an Automation Analyst to support Core Banking and specialized applications. You will apply strong programming fundamentals to design, develop and maintain test automation solutions that improve quality and enable early defect detection.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop automated test scripts and frameworks under senior guidance, aligned with RBC’s Quality Engineering practices.
• Participate in automated test planning and execution, progressing toward independent test planning responsibilities.
• Apply analytical skills to drive defect prevention and early detection initiatives.
• Explore and prototype AI‑driven testing approaches such as intelligent test generation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to build test suites, traceability matrices and support test walkthroughs.
• Maintain and optimise automation scripts for core banking and specialised applications, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with test automation tools/frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cucumber, RestAssured, Robot Framework, TestNG) and version control (Git).
• Solid understanding of software testing concepts, including API/microservices testing and non‑functional testing (performance, security).
• Analytical mindset focused on improving testing processes through automation.
• Nice‑to‑have experience with Agile/Scrum, AI‑driven testing projects, BDD or microservices architectures.
